tock tock stop in action

Tick Tock Stop. collaboration with Dan Gallally

Dan's idea was to create a clock that only functioned when someone was present. The final installation used a web camera to detect movement in the room. If movement was detected the clock would rush from where it had stopped back to the current time and start working normally. If no one was in the room it would stop where is was until it was disturbed again.

It was installed as part of a Hidden Art exhibition in Godolphin House in Cornwall in 2007.

Catalogue for the exhibition, as it points out here a nice side-effect is that you can tell when someone was last in the room.
